Known issues and FAQ

Here are some solutions for known issues and frequently asked questions.
If you encounter an issue not covered by this or the other guides, please contact support.

App

"Go to port" button is not showing

If the "go to port" button is not showing as expected, try one of these solutions:

  • The "go to port" button will not be visible before DCA-report has been submitted. If no catch was made during operations, submit an empty DCA. When the DCA is acknowledged, check if the button is revealed.
  • If a DCA has been submitted, check that no ended fishing operations are still in the "Pending registration of catch" or "Outbox" categories.
    Register catch and resubmit DCA. If a fishing operation with registered catch gets 'stuck' in the "Outbox," contact support.
  • All active fishing operations except "Deploy equipment" must be ended before you can proceed in the app. Check that the running operation has the correct setting. If not, cancel the incorrect operation and start a new one.

Animation for "Sending DEP/POR.etc" is playing but app is unresponsive

The app may have crashed and must be closed completely and reopened. Following are procedure for common units:

  • Older iPads with button: double-click the button and swipe the app off-screen.
  • Newer iPads: swipe from bottom to middle of the screen, then swipe the app off-screen.
  • Samsung: press the square button at the bottom of the screen, then swipe the app off-screen.

Registered amount of catch is incorrect

See guide: "Correcting fishing reports" for how to correct DCA if wrong amount was input.

On rare occations the app will claim some catch remains on board despite submitting a POR notice with all catch landed. If this happens:

  • Make sure to set the "quantity on board" to 0 when filing a new notice of departure (DEP).

If all reports were correctly submitted this will override the error in the app. If the problem persists, contact support.

App not responding when attempting to correct reports

On some android units the "Edit/Register" button may sometimes become unresponsive. Reopen the app after closing it completely.

Dark screen in landscape metodene

On some Lenovo-tablets the screen goes dark when viewing the app in landscape orientation. To remedy this, turn of auto-rotate and use default portrait orientation.
